Adenosine A1 and it's role in acupuncture
The Wall Street Journal recently published an article based on a study found in Nature and Neuroscience. The study suggests that Adenosine A1, a neurotransmitter, aids in the analgesic effect of acupuncture. Check here for more details.
I enjoy being an acupuncturist. After my undergraduate degree at Tennessee I was unsure about my future. While living in San Francisco working on my MFA I became further disenchanted with my career options. Subsequently, I changed directions and moved to Japan to live with a family acquaintance and my step- father's acupuncture mentor. Following my return from Japan I moved to New Mexico and finished a 4 year Master's program for my degree in Oriental Medicine, passed all my national exams and got right into practice in 2006. Being an athlete and overall active individual I enjoy applying acupuncture and TCM to common athletic injuries and the rehabilitation process of injuries.
